If you haven't already heard, here is news of some big and rather unexpected changes at the Worldview Centre. I have heard that nothing ever dies, it only changes state. Well, the Worldview Centre has seriously changed state.

The deluge of rain from early December to the New Year (over 900mm or 36 inches) caused the world to move here at Worldview. The earth under the slab for the main house turned into a sloppy porridge and slumped down the hill. The result is that the slab broke in two, and part of the building (the big lounge and our bedroom) had to be demolished. 

 The up-side is that we have saved the kitchen and the guest bedroom wing,  which means we still have a place to live (yay!). The big room is still intact and my engineer assures me the remaining buildings can be saved.  And no-one was hurt or in real danger. The collapse was slow and graceful, which means we saved our posessions and kept dry and warm.

The up-rush of love in the form of service and care has been, at times, quite overwhelming. I've had to learn how to receive so many gifts at all sorts of levels, from builders to cooks, workers and drivers to amateur plumbers and professional engineers, all gifting their skills. We have even had some folk donate money directly to us rather than to the general disaster appeals.

One bottom line is that we no longer have the facilities to operate as a retreat centre, and have cancelled all future workshops. The Worldview Centre as it was is no more, having already begun a journey into whatever it will become next.  

So the property is for sale, probably by tender (which means, anyone interested can make an offer). With the buildings a bit broken and buckled, the main value is in the land (110 acres with a rainforest creek and forest) with it's million dollar views. There is another building site on the property that is even more beautiful (pictured right) with views to the ocean and geologically solid as a rock (literally).
