Integral Community Gathering 2010
Open Forum for Integral Learning
Worldview Centre, Maleny QLD
Low-Cost Community Event ~ only $175 for the weekend. Book Now.
6pm Fri 29 – 4pm Sun 31 October, 2010
Whether you are just curious about Ken Wilber's Integral Approach or an experienced scholar, here's a chance to explore the integral worldview in a community of peers in a way that makes your soul sing.
Held by 4 intentions:
LL –
to replenish our faith in our community and to quench the thirst for peer
companionship
UR – to be comfortable and safe in a naturally inspiring place, to eat
well, soak in the view, stargaze, sit in a rainforest, bathe in nature
UL –
to explore the integral terrain together in way where cognition meets
experience to ignite insight and delight; to stay lovingly present with what is arising
LR –
to take stock of the world and assess our potential to manifest social
change
With the 4 quadrants so balanced and nourished, there is the
potential for a luminous state experience to arise for the group as a whole... where
the song of our heart-mind comes into tune to create a field of beauty that
bathes us all. It’s happened at these gatherings before, and seems to be the hallmark
of truly integral events.
Weekend Content
The content will arise from those who are present. First up we'll heart-storm where the passions are, then go explore. If you are curious about integral and would like to hang out with a few folk who know it well, please come along (and if you have a bucket-full of questions, bring that too). Or if you have years of experience exploring the contours of integral, please come alongand share what you have discovered.
The workspace (left) is well-resourced to support most workshop formats, including laptop plug-in to a roof mounted projector, a decent sound system (you can plug an iPod into), whiteboards, flipcharts, chairs, cushions and tables if needed. The room can transform from a presentation space into a large exercise or performance room in seconds.
When not engaged in a facilitated process or wandering in Big Nature, I imagine show-and-tell circles to explore topics of mutual interest. Some that occur to me are:
Exploring the Integral Stage: how is an integral worldview qualitatively different than a first-tier experience of existence? How do qualities like flexibility, presence, trust, freedom, resilience, sensitivity to beauty, etc. change at second-tier? And what about shadow?
Embodying the Model: how can I ground the integral model in direct bodily experience? What does a quadrant feel like?
Energy Age: what does the next wave of human culture look like? What characterises a post-postmodern culture? What does a "subtle energy economy” look like? How can we participate?
States work: identifying key states. Exploring ways of categorizing states, and reproducing them (through music, movement, breath, guided focus, group activities, ?)
Types work: what is integrally informed gender? can masculine and feminine instincts be understood as forms of quadrant favouritism? How do we view masculine and feminine forms of spirituality?
Business: What is the unique selling proposition of integral? How does an integral product distinguish itself in the marketplace above non-integral approaches? What are the markets and what business opportunities exist for those with integral insight?
Our main room also turns into a cinema, so we have the
option of punctuating our journey with the amazing work some creative folk are producing to guide consciousness to evolve (e.g. The Matrix, Mythic Journeys, etc.).
Logistics
Maleny is about 90 minutes north of Brisbane. The Sunshine Coast
airport is 40 minutes away with a reliable mini-bus taxi service. Landsborough railway station is 10 minutes drive.
We have 12 beds here at worldview, all twin share with
shared bathrooms. One value of a shared accommodation format is that it thrusts us into community, cooperating with each other to eat, sleep and stay clean. It's a richer we-space than a motel room on your own. If you need or prefer your own room with an ensuite, there is the Maleny Hills Motel just a few minutes
up the road, or the Maleny Lodge B&B
in the centre of town.
Exchange
As a community event, we ask only $175 per person if you book before 14/11, or $195 after that, which includes a bed and all meals (or only $135 for locals who sleep at home). We all cook together, wash up together, as well as meet and dream together. We provide recipes and food ingredients for a vegetarian wheat and gluten free diet (with optional dairy and eggs).
Limited to 12 staying onsite plus up to 8 campers or folk staying offsite. Click to book now.
My sincere gratitude to the creative souls who unwittingly contributed their soul-voice to this page. If you know who created any of these images, please tell me. They deserve to be credited.
